Electric bikes are a great way to get out and explore the Lake District, Cumbria. The additional power that an electric bike offers means that you don't have to be Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome or Geraint Thomas to be able to pack pedal power. Wherever you choose to explore with your electric bike around the Lake District, Cumbria, we thought it might be useful to know where there are charging points available around the county.

Please note: Participating venues are happy to support electric bike users, but there is a fair use expectation that anyone wanting a top up charge will remain with their battery/chargers and purchase a drink or meal whilst waiting.

AMBLESIDE
Free electric bike charging point, located at Ghyllside Cycles, Ambleside.
COCKERMOUTH
2 electric bike charging points, located at Bassenthwaite Lake Station Cafe. Charging facility is provided free to paying customers only, in exchange for a donation to a chosen charity which will change each year.
SEASCALE
Electric bike charging point, located at Sella Park Country House, Calderbridge.
A £1 charge applies for use of this facility.
WINDERMERE
Located at the Lake District Visitor Centre, Brockhole on Windermere.
COCKERMOUTH
Electric bike charging point, located at The Wheatsheaf pub.
A 50p charge applies for use of this facility.
KENDAL
50p charge with a drink, free if ordering a meal.
COCKERMOUTH
Electric bike charging point, located at Lorton Village Shop.
A Donation to Mountain Rescue is requested for use of this facility.
PENRITH
Electric bike charging point, located at The Upfront Gallery & Cafe, Nr. Hutton-in-the-Forest, Penrith.
A £1.50p part donation to puppet theatre applies for use of this facility.
COCKERMOUTH
Electric bike charging point, located at 4Play Cycles, Cockermouth.
A donation to Mountain Rescue is requested for use of this facility.
Ambleside
Electric bike charging point, located at Rydal Teashop.
There is no charge for using this facility, and public toilets are available just behind the charging point.
COCKERMOUTH
Electric bike charging point, located at Cyclewise, Cockermouth.
A donation to Mountain Rescue is requested for use of this facility.
KESWICK
Non-hired bikes can be charged for half an hour if they have been PAT tested and display the sticker at Cyclewise bike shop.

Electric bike charging point, located at Farfield Mill, Sedbergh.
A donation to the upkeep of the Mill is requested for use of this facility.
