The parking area near Blea Tarn is only a short walk away from the tarn, which offers an open space with stunning scenery.
Blea Tarn is nine miles drive from Ambleside. To get to Blea Tarn car park from Ambleside, take the A593 to Skelwith Bridge and then turn right at the Skelwith Bridge Hotel down the B5343 signposted Elterwater and Langdale. Drive past Elterwater to the village of Chapel Stile. Drive through Chapel Stile into Greater Langdale, continue past the New Dungeon Ghyll, the National Trust car park on your right and onward to the Old Dungeon Ghyll take a sharp left past the National Trust campsite and up the hill past Wall End Farm and up steeply to the top of the hill. Then down past Blea Tarn House to Blea Tarn National Trust car park on your left.
